cheap scooters

In 1960, Kawasaki bought out Megero Motorcycles, which had been in the industry since 1937. They had a brave idea by offering every kind of motorcycle type there was. It was a strategy that would make or break them. It turned out to be a good idea as they could always puch everything from a 50 model to the big twin 650CC and everything in between.

In 1928, Honda opened his own repair shop. As a hobby he also was involved in making race cars. He did not start the Honda Motor Company until he was 41 years old in 1948. They made several two stroke and four stroke motorcycle styles. He focused on the areas of quality and design, offering well made products to compete in the industry.

The Harley-Davidson motorcycle has been in production since 1903. The brand offers a variety of models for both sexes. While this brand of motorcycle is among the most expensive, the models also have a reputation for being reliable and well built. Harley-Davidson bikes are known for the power behind them as they were at first built as a racing bike.

The first Yamaha motorcycle was introduced in August of 1954, called the Yamaha YA-1. This bike featured a two stroke single cylinder engine. By July of 1955 Yamaha was creating 200 quality motorcycles each month with a staff of 274 people. The YD-1 was introduced in 1957 as a racing bike. The bike quickly became popular and was featured in the United States Catalina Grand Prix in 1958.

From cork to carpet your flooring options are limitless

CORK FLOORING

Cork flooring is made of the renewable bark of cork oak tree. Cork floors are especially long-lasting (50 to 75 years), anti-static, termite-proof, and resistant to penetration by stains, acids and water. Cork flooring is then created from post-industrial by-product of the bottle-stopper industry. This “waste” material is ground up and then formed into sheets using minimal amounts of adhesive to bind the particles together under high pressure. Cork flooring is usually pretreated with a variety of stains and colors, making the cork floor tiles and sheets a workable option for just about every room in the home.

BERBER CARPET

Berber carpet is guaranteed to also look like it has been recently installed. Footprints are hardly noticeable on this kind of carpet, nor are lines from vacuuming. Berber is a natural choice for an active household. The traditional Heatherfield Berber style complements a variety of interior decors.Though wool or even camel hair is the traditional choice for a Berber carpet, you’ll find them made in materials like nylon and olefin. Standard berber carpets are distinct from other weaves because it has varying levels of loops and usually has less pile than other carpets, but it is considerably denser than some carpets with higher loops and pile. Are you interested in the naming origin? The carpet was named after a hand made bulky wool that was textured and used by a tribe in North Africa, the Berber tribe. The Berber carpet that is used even today follows the same tradition of the tribe by using flecked bulky yarns to create a beautiful carpet. How do you vacuum a Berber wool carpet? How do you clean a polypropylene carpet?

BRAIDED RUGS

Braided rugs are noted for durability and are made by braiding yarn around two core yarns for a flat construction or a single core for a tubular construction. Ideal for high-traffic areas, braided rugs provide timeless style and endurance. The braided area rugs are by nature long lasting and can take a lot of harsh treatment but you must not forget that they are made through braiding strips of cloth. So, you should take extreme care that no damage to the braiding is done. Most braided rugs are reversible, so you can quickly flip them over if one side gets too dirty.

Placed on hardwood, ceramic tile or even wall-to-wall carpeting, Capel braided texture rugs adds definition, color and warmth to any space. The tradition began with the need to cover bare floors economically with both warmth and beauty. Some of the first braided rugs in America were fashioned from scrap cloth and old clothes.

Braids of the same weight and width wear the most evenly. While these rugs look a lot like the originals, they won’t last as long as their historic counterparts and probably won’t wear as well either. Each braided rug is sewn with heavy-duty polyester thread, is reversible for added wear, color fast and non-allergenic.

Great receiver for beginner audiophiles!

Review Date: April 27, 2009
Reviewer: J. Gomez, san antonio, tx
Let me start by saying I did tons of research and settled on Onkyo because of the ease of setup, hdmi inputs and price. I initially thought I was going to get the sr606, but decided against it because it's a behemoth, the video upconversion didn't get good reviews, and I'm only going to use 5.1 surround sound. This receiver offers a lot of the same features as the 606 in a much smaller package. I paired it with Definitive Technology Procinema 600 5.1 surround system and it sounds great. Much better than my 10 yr old Sony receiver with sony and bose speakers.
Great reciever, easy setup, less cables

Just got this TX-SR507 set up.

Here are some initial impressions. The setup is very easy and fast. Had all the connections complete in less than 15 minutes. Despite some misinformation out there this receiever is not HDMI passthrough for audio. Instead it has HDMI repeater technology. This is way way better than pass through. What this HDMI repeater technology allows you to do is to run a SINGLE HDMI cable from each source (cable box, blueray, dvd player, roku box, or any other device that has hdmi out) to the reciever (you can hook up all the items into this as its loaded with HDMI inputs. From the receiver you run a SINGLE HDMI cable to your TV. Meanwhile the audio is processed by the reciever and sent out to your surround sound system. No additional toslink or analog cables needed. This feature alone is worth the extra to buy this unit. If it was only HDMI passthrough you would need to run separate cables for your surround sound in addition to the HDMI to get your audio output from the reciever to your surround sound system. You can set up inputs on this receiver to pass the audio along to your TV but why would you want to do that.

Another great feature is the Audyssey speaker setup mic included. It measures several listening positions in the room and optimizes the audio output for each speaker in your system. This also is super easy to do and other than moving the included mic around and pushing the enter button on the remote you just sit back and let it do the rest.

I have this set up with a Martin Logan sub and Klipsch SL speaker system and it sounds great for both music and HT use. This blows away the out of the box HT systems although it costs a little more to get it all together.

This receiver does not disappoint and runs cooler than my old Sony receiver. I have read that some say the Onkyos run hot but not an issue for the 507. The only thing i wish this had was a satelite radio tuner built in but other than that it has everything needed to pull everything together. Price was very reasonable considering all the HDMI connectivity this unit has.

One thing i would recommend is getting a Harmony remote to add the icing on the cake. Nothing better than pushing one button to get any activity started without having to fumble through 3 or 4 remotes and then one button to shut all the components off when done.
Fantastic Replacement for HTiB

Review Date: April 27, 2009
Reviewer: H. Lin,
I purchased this receiver along with the Energy Take Classic system to replace my seven year old Panasonic HTiB. The improvement is remarkable, although I'm sure much of the improvement is due to the new speakers. This receiver has plenty of inputs, supports audio over HDMI, and generates clean sounding audio. Basically this is everything I need. I love that it comes in a relatively compact package.

I know heat is a big issue for receivers in general. This one does not seem to have overheating issues. I've kept it on for several hours and it gets somewhat warm, but not hot to the touch. I have 2-3 inches of clearance on the top and it is pretty open on the sides and back.
Onkyo 507 can drive 4 ohm speakers!

Review Date: June 20, 2009
Reviewer: Kristin B. Macleod, Solana Beach, CA United States
This is probably the cheapest, quality receiver that can strip out HDMI audio ( many hdmi receivers don't ). It has plenty of HDMI inputs and is very easy to setup. Something I had trouble finding out is if this would drive 4 ohm speakers. I recently bought some lsi15s on craigslist and they are 4 ohms and are notoriously hard to drive. After wasting some time on audiophile forums they kept trying to convince me that only after I had the double helix flux capacitor extreme amplifier ( only 3,999! ) I would actually "FEEL" the speakers or some other mumbo jumo. I decided to try it out myself.

The onkyo 507 did not disappoint. While I never listen at these absurd levels I stress tested it by cranking up the volume to 50 and playing classical for an hour ( this was loud enough that I had to step out and close the door). It got hot, but sound quality was sustained and it topped out at 50C I think. All onkyos get hot and driving 4 ohm speakers makes them even hotter, but they'll do it and they'll do it well.

Hopefully this helps anyone who is wondering if these will drive 4 ohm speakers even though they're not certified for it.

NOTE: DO NOT PLACE THE RECEIVER IN A CLOSED AREA. Onkyos do get hotter than other brands, make sure you have adequate ventilation.
Also; don't pay attention to watt ratings, an increase from 80 to 100 watts per channel is nothing. Not only are the ratings essentially made up ( see contrast ratings for TV ), but the difference is essentially nothing ( You need 4x the power to have 2x the volume ). What you want is a quality amplifier, and this onkyo is one.
Onkyo's TX-SR507 - Has many of the same features as the more expensive models

Review Date: May 4, 2009
Reviewer: M. Bessert,
I've never owned a A/V receiver before so I tried to do my homework before I made a purchase. The TX-SR507 has many of the same features as the more expensive models for a fraction of the price (four 1080p capable HDMI inputs and TrueHD/DTS-HD decoding). I pre-ordered and got it for $279.00 with free shipping, so the price was right too. I've paired it up with Energy Take Classics 5.1 (which I paid $379.00 with free shipping). I'm extremely pleased with the results. I use it mostly for gaming with my PS3 and watching Blu-ray movies. The Audyssey Auto Speaker Calibration with the included mic made precise set up a breeze. I doubt that you could find a better A/V receiver for that price.

Know the Difference Between an Individual Health Insurance Plan and a Family Health Insurance Plan

Filed under General Info by emma on November 28, 2009 at 5:51 pm no comments

Individual health insurance plans and family health insurance plans, while basically the same, differ in degree of coverage as well as cost. Learn the difference between the two types of insurance products.

Individual Health Insurance Plans and Family Health Insurance Plans – Do You Know the Difference?

Trying to locate the right health insurance plan to fit your budget isn’t always the easiest thing to do especially with the growing cost of health care here in the United States. Determining what you want a health insurance plan to accomplish for you and your family and determining the needs to be covered will help you decide what health insurance plan may work best you and your family.

What are Individual Health Insurance Plans?

The first place to start our discussion is with the individual health insurance plan. An individual health insurance plan is basically what it says it is. An individual health insurance plan is a health insurance plan for one person. If you find you have no one else to insure with a health insurance policy then this will be your best option from a cost standpoint. Keep in mind however that individual health insurance plans may vary widely in affordability depending on the type of coverage you choose for yourself.

The more traditional individual health care plan is called an indemnity plan. The indemnity plan normally covers your visits to the doctor of your choosing and will cover the procedures that this doctor may prescribe for you. The cost for this indemnity plan will vary depending upon a deductible you choose for herself as well as your out-of-pocket limit. Keep in mind though that overall this type of health insurance plan is the more expensive of the individual health insurance plans but does offer you the most freedom of choice.

Individual managed care plans such as HMOs are less expensive than the indemnity plans but you need to be aware that you do give up some of the freedoms that are offered by the indemnity plan. Your freedom to choose your doctor is limited to the doctors on the HMO’s approved list and any specialists that you may need to see will have to be referred by this primary doctor. If primary yearly checkups and the occasional antibiotics describes your current health care needs, this plan may be the one for you. This plan will cover health emergencies but there may be just a few more hoops you have to jump through than with the Indemnity health care plan. Both of these health insurance plans, the indemnity plan as well as the individual managed care plan, may include dental coverage and prescription coverage at an additional cost.

What Are Family Health Insurance Plans?

As the name implies, family health insurance plans are designed for families. However since these family health insurance plans are covering more than one person, the cost of these plans will be higher. As you may already have guessed, the larger the family the larger the price tag. In addition, factors such as the ages, gender, and habits such as smoking or tobacco use in general etc. will largely determine how much this policy will cost you. As with individual health insurance plans, there are indemnity plans that are available for families. And since these indemnity plans offer the same freedoms as they do for the individual plans, these plans can be a real help when having to deal with the health care needs of multiple people.

Family health insurance can also come in the managed care variety as well and pretty much work the same way as do the individual managed care health insurance plans. The cost of the family managed care plans will be higher than that of the individual managed care plan, but will cost less than a family indemnity plan.

What Are Group Insurance Plans?

Many companies are now offering their employees group health insurance coverage. These employers may pay the bill for some of the premium. Since many of these employers now offer both types of health insurance coverage, the type of policy you choose will determine your out-of-pocket costs. Generally these group health insurance plans will cost you less than a plan you were to purchase on your own. If this type of group insurance plan is available to you at your workplace, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of it. If it is not offered at your workplace, perhaps you could suggest that your employer consider offering a group health insurance plan.

If your plan at work does not include a health insurance benefit or you are self employed or simply looking to provide health insurance coverage for yourself and your family outside the workplace environment, a great place to start your research is Blue Cross Blue Shield (www dot BCBS dot com) or Aetna (www dot aetna dot com). This is not necessarily an endorsement but is a good place to start in understanding the types of health insurance plans available out there today. These two large providers operate in most of our 50 states so your likelihood of learning about the types of health insurance plans available in your state from different insurers is high.

As always, seek the advice of a professional financial planner before deciding on a course of action that you do not fully understand.

The amazing strength of sandwich panels

Filed under General Info by emma on November 28, 2009 at 5:29 pm no comments

Sandwich panels have seen limited use on various applications for the U.S. Even after extensive development work, issues such as uniform design parameters; connecting techniques; adherence practices, materials, repair and modification methods; and availability of the honeycomb plastic panels have kept opportunistic growth in the use of laser-welded metallic sandwich panels for naval and other defense and commercial applications. Sandwich panel flexural stiffness, the tensile and compressive strengths of the facesheets, core shear strength and shear modulus, and even the facesheet-to-core bond can be measured. Still, the standard admits that ASTM may be a better choice for determining core shear strength and shear modulus.

The sandwich panel comprise of outer or face sheets separated by an inner core connected to their inside surfaces. They possess a high strength-to-weight ratio since they are light in weight and the core is configured to resist bending of the panel under stress.

Sandwich panels are not only self-supporting but can also bear considerable loads. The dimensions and profile of the facings as well as the thickness and density of the polyurethane foam core are important factors. Sandwich marine panels utilizing aluminum honeycomb cores result in lightweight, high strength structures that are very rigid. Aluminum honeycomb panels have the greatest strength to weight ration of any construction available. Sandwich panel structures based upon highly porous, periodic cellular metal (PCM) structures have attracted significant interest for load supporting structural applications. Cellular alloys with open cell topologies are also attractive heat exchange media where dissipation of high intensity heat in relatively small spaces is required.
