This is a great, great home theater! I went to Wal-Mart with the sole idea of buying the Philips HTS3372D/F7 for half the price of this one. However, they were out and this was the only one they had left... and I was desperate. Installing my new home theater (which took only minutes), I was a little underwhelmed. I'll start at the auto calibration. Now in order to begin the calibration you must hook the microphone into the front and place it where you commonly sit. Sounds simple enough, right. Well, yes and no. The speakers then proceed to blast you with the MOST annoying static "sounds". The whole process takes about 3 minutes. This wouldn't be too bad if it actually worked the first time. Most of the speakers couldn't be read the first time and I had to redo it about 5 times til I got it just right. So now that its all hooked up, its time to mess with the settings. This is where I had the most problems. Samsung has kind of embedded the settings in the remote and while not really the fault of the machine its a real pain to access. Although, to be fair to the home theater, it had it all in the manual (which I only skimmed). So in other words, make sure you read the manual! Now that everything is as it should be, it's time to test it out. In order to get the best sound possible, I connected it to my PS3 with the Digital optical cord. Now let me say that this particular Home Theater has excellent sound! I used to have difficulty hearing what was being said in the movie, but not anymore. Everything is crystal clear. However, I was surprised that the Bass didn't feel as strong as I thought it should. That all changed when I put in The Relic. I was completely blown away! The sound was scarier than the movie! It felt and sounded like the monster was in my room! My floors and walls were shaking from the footsteps, the roars and wheezes chilled my spine. The point: make sure you have quality audio movies. It's now been about 2 months and everything is still working and am still loving my favorite impulse buy. While setup was a little tedious the sound more than makes up for it, I would recommend getting the Samsung HT-C550 DVD Home Theater to anyone with the money.

Also, the back speakers are only wireless READY meaning you have to get the adapter, which will run about $99!
Great Bang for the Buck!

RATING: I highly recommend the Samsung HTC 550.

PRICE: Although the system is worth $250, I paid $220 and feel it is a great value. Try to find it for less than $250, but know you are getting a lot for the money.

RECEIVER: The receiver looks great with a hidden DVD drive and touch-sensitive buttons. The DVD drive looks great, but it not particularly durable. A little door slides down and the drive pops out. The buttons work great and the volume button is a silver protruding round curve. It looks great, but it has a white backlight that is a little too bright, and can be distracting in the dark. A "dimmer" feature dims the input display screen, but (strangely, unfortunately) does not dim the volume buttons.

SPEAKERS: The speakers sound great. They are very clear and have plenty of power. Although it is not hard to max out the system, you should find it plenty loud for watching movies in 5.1 surround. The center speaker looks and sounds outstanding. (The back speakers can be even be made wireless with a $100 wireless adapter, which I am considering, and believe will be an excellent addition.) Although you can buy the speakers alone on eBay (around $40), they sound great with this amplified receiver.

SUB: The subwoofer is pretty good as well. It's small, but it has been sufficient for me. It has a nice front design and the speaker is on its left side. With a Power Bass mode, it has plenty of bass and power.

VIDEO: The 1080p upscaling is excellent with an HDMI cable. (Without HDMI, the quality will be below average DVD-quality.) Do not trade in your DVDs because they will look almost as good as Blu-rays with this player. This DVD upscaling player works excellent and plays DVDs better than my Samsung Blu-ray player.

REMOTE: The remote design is excellent and vastly improved over other remotes. It gives you excellent control over the receiver. An input button on the remote lights up; push once, it's orange to control the receiver, push again, it's green to control the TV. (It's basically a universal remote with my Samsung TV.)

iPOD: The iPod dock is an excellent feature, but I have not been able to get it to work yet (with either the iPod mini or the iPod touch.) It takes a long time to "verify," and I have never waited long enough to see if the "verifying" eventually stopped. Otherwise, the USB port on the front works great with a portable hard drive.

ASC: I have not yet tried the Auto-Calibration feature. The feature allows you to plug in an included microphone into a port on the front of the receiver and run an audio test which will automatically calibrate the speakers for you based on their distance apart in the room. I plan to try it when I get my speakers set up more permanently.

INPUTS/DECODERS: It has 1 digital audio (to hook up to Blu-ray player), 2 HDMI, and 2 component inputs, an iPod dock, a USB port, and an FM radio. Tt does not decode HD sound formats (DD HD, DTS HD). The regular 5.1 surround is excellent with TV, CDS, mp3s, DVDs, and Blu-rays.

OVERALL: 5 Stars. You are getting an excellent and powerful surround sound system and upscaling DVD player for a reasonable price. It may need some tweaking with the set up and settings, but add speaker stands (maybe go wireless) and you will have a system that continues to impress.
Great system for a reasonable price

This is a great product for what I consider a reasonable price. Easy set-up! Works great! Good sound quality; certainly won't blow your socks off but what would anyone expect for this price. This is a fully functional system for a basic user like me.
SATISFIED

Reviewer: Ainsley,
Okay first off, it took us FOREVER to figure out how to get it properly set up to get sound from the tv. We had to go back to Walmart and get another cable for that. And then it took another 3 hours for us to figure out how to set it up to our PS3 in order to get full surround. Manual didn't help at all, and neither does their website. When we finally figured it out, the sound was amazing.

I've been trying to get my ipod mini to play now. All it says is "Verifying..." and I can't use the control until I unplug the ipod. Sat there for about 30mins and it didn't do anything. So I plugged my zune into the usb port and it says it doesn't recognize the usb. Zune is an mp3 player, if the product doesn't recognize some brands then maybe they should say that, and there's nothing in the troubleshooting about having problems playing an mp3. Finally just plugged my ipod into the usb port and it plays, but it doesn't show the menus on your ipod so you have to go through all your root folders and find your music and click on something random, as it doesn't list the names of the songs.
And I saw another person had a similar problem with the ipod. The only clue I've got is that it might need a software update. It really shouldn't be this complicated.

Rule One of Business: Get Paid

Getting paid, as you would imagine is essentially the point in your business because if you aren’t being paid, what are you doing in business?

You may be laughing at the heaps of business people who only have their customer base to pay them when and if they remember it. I am acquainted with one tradesman who habitually gets bad debts like accolades. Why is that? Simply because he can’t bring himself to ask for the money and people can just use him.

If you give somebody credit, do so only if they have cleared their worth to you by paying cash on delivery (COD) for some period of time. Secondly, you should gauge whether they have the resources to pay you – if not don’t do business with them. Don’t trick yourself into thinking “I need the work” or “I need the sales”. It’s ultimately in doing the job or providing the goods for free if you do not get paid.

If you are the type of person who can’t demand the fee even after the service has been done, try these hints:

Tell your client that when the service is done, you will need cash or cheque. They should be likely to have it ready at the transacation and you don’t need to request your fee.

When you give out your quote, be sure your payment terms are clear.

Form an invoice with the terms of payment clearly printed and hand the client the invoice when the task is completed. They can take the invoice and reactively assume they need to pay the money now without you being required to say anything. Make up an “evil boss” who would torture you alive if you do not bring back the fee for the job.

Ask your banking institution to set you up with Merchant facilities so you can accept credit cards such as Mastercard and Visa. Many people use credit cards and it could prevent the issue of the customer not having a cheque book or not having the right amount of cash in their wallet.

Alternatively, don’t be persuaded against to keep hold on the goods til the payment is made. Understand, until the goods have been paid for, the goods are still yours.

If you choose to allow somebody credit, make sure you have got the following contact information off them some time BEFORE you give them credit.

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Bank name and address
  • Account no.
  • 3 trade references with their names, addresses and phone numbers

Once you take all this detail, call the branch and make certain that they do have an account at there. Then, call every trade reference and ask if they pay their invoices punctually or if there are any problems with them.

Most people will be willing to tell you if the person is troublesome. If everything is OK, allow them a moderate level of debt, say no more than $500 (depending on your business). Monitor the operation of the account for a few months before allowing this amount to be exceeded.

Learning About Expensive Beverly Hills Plumbers

Don’t hire the guy who did our home remodeling. There are instances when finding a plumber simply cannot wait. If there is a plumbing emergency then you just expect them to come as soon as possible and it doesn’t really matter whether it is an office or home.

You’d be surprised just how many freelancers are out there, or commercial plumber who seem experienced but have recently left (or worse, been fired from) a major company and have no insurance of their own. Talk to friends and family to figure out who they’ve used in the past, and whether or not they’d recommend them. This is just like beverly hills plumber to most plumbers. A professional plumber has years of experience in fixing those broken pipes and installing or repairing those gas components and issues with sewerage system lines.

When you’re planning and negotiating the plumbing service, there’s no need to let on that you may never have hired a licensed plumber for a major task before. Outline the problem at hand. This is similar to beverly hills plumber in the minds of most people looking for plumbers. This repair will be done only once and in a lot quicker time than you would take and even there would be only 1 bill that includes the parts that are replaced, repairs and a service fee.

Unless he’s booked and overflowing with work, there’s no reason why he wouldn’t spare a few minutes and drive a bit out of his way in order to present his plumber service plan and give you a price quote before you call him out to work. In this article, we will outline the system for weeding through the potential candidates and choosing a real winner. Sometimes people confuse this with beverly hills plumber typically. Once if you start repairing it and if anything goes wrong then you could further more expensive bill than the normal since the plumber should not only fix the original problem but should also clear the new damage done by you.

Remember though, if you have a major project you’ll also want a plumber who works well alongside other contractors. Recruiting a professional plumber services can save both money and time. All of a sudden if a big project came to us then we would find more difficulty in completing it. There’s plenty more to be said about the things you can do to make sure you’re working with a reputable master plumber, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Coping With Back Acne

Back acne comes in all sizes and forms of acne, ranging from mild forms like whiteheads to serious forms of acne including cystic acne. “Bacne” as it is referred to in slang terms, can consist of pimples, pustules and blackheads as well. Back acne affects people ranging from age ten to age forty or older yet. Understanding the causes of back acne and available treatment options, are very important is treating and preventing the condition.

Like all of the other forms of acne, there is no one thing that causes back acne. As far as the medical community stands, back acne also happens when oil glands start functioning more rapidly around puberty. The hormone group androgens, found in both females and males, get overactive which in turn causes a reaction in the oil glands, which make extra oil. The oil glands are located just underneath the skin surface. Oil glands constantly are producing and secreting oil through the pores in the skin. When too much of the oils are produced the pores and hair follicles become clogged. The clogs obstruct the way that dead cells escape the skin, which in turn results in a mess of oil and dead cells plugging the hair follicle. This attracts bacterium, which causes the acne to be formed.

Back acne can be found on any part of the body and does not necessarily have to be on a person’s back. It can be very severe with large lesions and painful cysts. Back acne may just be something that certain people are prone to or it could be caused by other things such as tight clothing or a heavy backpack. Not having anything in contact with the back is not a logical prevention step, as we all must sit down and everyone has to wear clothing. It is easier to treat back acne than to try and prevent it because most people suffer from back acne at one time or another. Skin on the back is much thicker and therefore allows for stronger topical treatments, such as ten percent Benzoyl peroxide. This strength of Benzoyl peroxide is not suitable for other skin that is typically thinner and will not be able to sustain itself under harsh treatment. You can get all the same types of acne, blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules and cysts, on your back just as you can on any other part of your body.

There are some differences in back acne and acne located elsewhere on the body however. Back acne is not caused by genetics as other acnes can be. Some severe cases of back acne may be genetically passed on but most likely it is just the individual’s body type or personal genetic make up. People all over the world suffer from back acne at some point in their lives. Unlike other acne, food does not contribute to the formation or flare up of back acne. There is absolutely no evidence that foods cooked in grease, or high in fat content contribute to back acne.

It is also known that excessive oil production and dirt build up does not have a huge impact on developing back acne. Perspiring excessively and not washing or showering immediately has been shown to not increase the chances of developing back acne. Back acne also does not seem to be affected by stress. There are some who think that facial acne is increased due to stress. However stress can cause back acne to not heal. Oftentimes, stress causes people to pick and bother the pimples, which make the condition worse.

Taking some over the counter medicines may treat breakouts of back acne in conditions that are not complex. Some skin specialists or dermatologists should treat severe forms of acne on the back, such as cystic acne. Most of the simpler forms of acne might disappear with daily washing and cleansing routines but as cystic acne goes deep into the skin and can cause permanent scarring, it should be given more serious medical attention than simple pustules or blackheads on the back.

Knowing how to get rid of a zit, even those on your back may require specialist advice. Always speak to your healthcare provider about treatment before starting a back acne treatment program never attempt to treat severe acne on your own or with an over the counter product without consulting a professional.
